8 Things Your Child Does at Holiday Club That You Probably Never See

1. They start their day together as one big group - Union.

Before the day's adventures begin, everyone comes together for Union.

It's not just "here's what's happening today."

It's full of enthusiasm, sometimes music, dance and yeehaws! We talk about our rules and values, meet our team for the day and get everyone ready for the day ahead.

We talk about things like caring, respect, honesty and responsibilty.

Then the children head off into their day.

And that's when things really get going.

2. They get to choose what they're interested in

Imagine being told you can choose what you'd like to do today.

That's exactly what happens at Camp Glide.

Children can choose from different workshops, giving them the freedom to follow their interests.

Maybe they're feeling creative.

Maybe they want something active.

Maybe there's something they've never tried before that catches their eye.

They get to make choices about their own day.

At Camp Glide, it doesn't have to be a board game.

It can become a real-life crime that the children have to solve.

Suddenly, they're investigating clues, questioning suspects and trying to work out exactly what happened.

We can turn the whole thing into a courtroom drama, with a judge presiding over the case and the evidence being presented.

And if the guilty person is finally found?

Well...

Their sentence might just involve a shaving-foam pie in the face of one of our staff members.

played before, made something from scratch or taken on a responsibility they'd never had before.
